How to get red carpet ready...

A week before the event, buy a whitening kit like Crest Whitening Strips about forty dollars at the drugstore and use every day. A clean white smile is necessary for those glamourous shots! Next drink lots of water the entire week to really hydrate your skin. Each day as you take your shower be generous with your lotion and don't foget your elbows and your feet. A bit of petrolium jelly on your feet and thick socks worn to bed will help really even out even the dryest of skin.

For your nails unless you are a professional seek a salon that can give you a french manicure and pedicure. sometimes the simpliest color is more attractive then bright pink nail polish because it just appears to be clean and fresh. Once your nails are beautified in the shower the last two days before the event use a body scrub to get rid of any dry flaky skin, loofah's are also good and even pumice stones for the feet.

The day of the event instead of lotioning up use a body glow lotion to really give you that nice bronzed out finish. It hides imperfections and gives you a natural look.

If you really want to glow so it looks like you spent a week at the bahamas then skip the regular lotion you use after your shower and just use the tanning lotion instead. For your face you can also use a glowing facial lotion but be sure that it drys very well before you apply any makeup.

For the red-carpet it is necessary to have as clear skin as possible and using proactive and other products containing salicylic acid, benzethonium chloride and b. peroxide, are well known to fight acne. Using a poweder makeup that is mineral based will help you to give the impression that your not wearing very much at all.

Bare minerals is a great choice, go to Sephora and have them test it out on half of your face and see the difference natural makeup makes.

Finally do your makeup, pick out colors that you have tried before. no surprise product combinations, time is of the essence and if you make a mistake yes your going to have to wipe off the canvas and start all over again.

If you would rather get your makeup done go into the mall to a department store that carries the make up brands that you love and talk to some of the people that work there observing who is doing the best job. Tell them your going out to a special event and would like to have your makeup done on a specific day. Usually they require you to purchase a few of the products that they use on you.
